ENNIS Chamber, in association with The Clare Champion has launched a primary school competition to name the new Ennis Gift Voucher Scheme.
The gift vouchers to be launched by Ennis Chamber in the coming weeks can be spent in any participating businesses across all sectors not just retail but hospitality and services as well. The objective of the scheme is to encourage more people to shop local and maintain spending within the town’s economy.
The Ennis Gift Voucher will be ideal for people to give a present to family, friends or colleagues when unsure what to buy for anything from birthdays to weddings to Christmas to special occasions. It is also an ideal way for businesses to reward employees up to the value of €250 without being taxed as income.
As the Ennis Gift Voucher will be redeemable in a wide range of participating businesses, the person receiving it will have thousands of products and services to choose from in Ennis. The voucher will be available for purchase from Ennis Chamber of Commerce.
Ennis Chamber is now looking for a catchy and relevant name for the gift voucher.
“We are calling on all primary schoolchildren in the county to think about what a gift voucher for Ennis means to them. There is a fantastic prize of the first every newly named Ennis Gift Voucher worth €100 as the prize,” said Chamber CEO, Rita McInerney.
Clare Champion managing director, John Galvin commented, “We are happy to be associated with this initiative, which aims to encourage people to keep money circulating in Ennis rather than spending further afield.”
Entries to name the Ennis Gift Voucher must be on postcard, along with a brief reason why this name was chosen, to be sent to Ennis Chamber, 54 O’Connell Street, Ennis, County Clare by Friday, October 16.
