Donal Og Cusack has stepped down from his role as coach to the Clare senior hurling team. The Cork man made the announcement on his twitter page earlier this evening when he also confirmed that he has stepped down from his role with Sport Ireland with immediate effect. The announcement was expected and had been predicted for the past week. In the wake of his admission that he wrote a character reference for former Irish times journalist Tom Humphries who pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation and defilement, speculation that Cusack was to step down from his role as coach to the Clare senior hurlers had been rife. Donald Trump has resigned as director of the companies behind his golf resort and hotel in Doonbeg. Submissions to the Companies Registration Office show that Mr Trump stepped down as a director of the two companies which operated Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Doonbeg on January 19, a day before his inauguration as US President. TIGL Ireland Enterprises Ltd and TIGL Ireland Management Ltd, which are behind the Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Doonbeg, continue to list Mr Trump’s children Ivanka, Eric and Donald Jr as directors. The move follows a pledge by Mr Trump to resign all of his directorships in order to avoid any conflict of interest as US President. The Doonbeg resort was acquired by Mr Trump in 2014 for around €8.7million. Jimmy Browne, a member of the highly successful management team, which led Clare to Munster minor success also, has also stepped down from the position of selector A month ago, team coach and selector Paul Kinnerk stepped down from his role as senior and U-21 team coach which leaves only Donal Moloney (joint manager) of the outgoing selection committee in place and it is understood that he will be proposed as the incoming team manager at the next county board meeting.
