Sparkling celebrations at Tulla AC

ATHLETES that have represented Tulla AC with distinction over the past 60 years gathered at the club’s diamond anniversary function in Minogue’s on Sunday night.

Photograph by John KellyMany champions were honoured on the night including five surviving Clare senior champions, Jimmy McGrath, Michael Minogue, John Danagher, James McIntyre and Donal McGrath. Deceased winners Michael Culligan and Joe Lynch were also remembered.

Five members of the Tulla team that won the Clare senior title for the 12th successive year in 1971/72 were also honoured. They are Michael Minogue, John Danaher, Denis McKeogh, Tomás Kennedy and Tom Byrnes.
Michael O’Keeffe, the club’s first chairman, was also honoured on the night.
