Scariff Foróige information night for parents and children

SCARIFF Foróige will host an information night for volunteers, young people and children, aged 10+, as well as parents and guardians, on Monday night next, September 26. The club will resume for its 17th year on the night of Friday, October 7. Junior Club for 10-12 year olds will run for one hour from 7.30-8.30pm. This will be followed by Legend’s Foróige Club for First Years. Meetings take place at Scarriff Rugby Club House’s original building. This year, Foróige Youth Club will be able to offer a full experience, including a space to meet friends and make new friends. County makes room for plethora of new legends

Cup an open ear towards the distant mists of time and hear the deeds of Brian Boru, Máire Rua, Biddy Earley and Captain Edward Kennedy resonate. If you were to happen upon a game of hurling, at a time of your choosing during the 20th century, the feats and skills of Pa ‘Fowler’ McInerney, Tommy Daly, Jimmy Smyth, Ger Loughnane, Brian Lohan, Seán McMahon and Jamesie O’Connor would leave you certain this was a county not short of sporting legends. A county not scraping around, searching forlornly for men worthy of having the saffron and blue placed on their backs, as reputedly Brian Boru had at the Battle of Clontarf in 1014.
