Pedestrian in his 30s dies after been struck by a car in Kilkee

A pedestrian, a man aged in his 30s has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Kilkee yesterday evening.

The collision, which involved a car and a pedestrian, occurred on the N67 at Lisdeen between Kilkee and Kilrush at around 6.20pm.

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 30s, was fatally injured.

No other injuries have been reported from the incident.

The road remained closed overnight and a technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators will be completed today.

The local coroner has been notified, and arrangements will now be made for a post-mortem examination.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
