THE Our Lady’s Hospital site in Ennis has a new owner and discussions are now underway with the local authority on its development potential.
While the new owner has not yet been revealed, the site has been earmarked for the development of a retirement village involving 200 housing units, primary care and a community centre, according to Ennis Councillor Pat Daly (FF).
Details of the recent sale were revealed at a meeting of the Ennis Municipal District where Councillor Tommy Guilfoyle (SF) insisted the site could be a “silver bullet” in addressing the housing shortage in Ennis and County Clare.
