By Seamus Hayes Clare 2-20 Limerick 1-14 A strong second half showing helped defending Munster and All-Ireland champions Clare to a merited win over Limerick in the opening round of the Munster under 21 hurling championship at the Gaelic grounds on Wednesday evening. In a game played before an attendance of 6,063, the favourites took a while to settle but they were always in control in the second half. In the semi-final on July 16, Clare will take on Tipperary at Cusack Park “Limerick were always going to put it up to us. I saw them annihilate Kilkenny two weeks ago in a challenge game in Nowlan Park. We paid them huge respects coming in here in terms of how we prepared, particularly in terms of mental preparation.
