Threatened to ‘shoot’ warden for taking dog

A 40-YEAR-OLD man, who doggedly harassed Clare’s dog warden, Frankie Coote over a five-day period by phone and allegedly threatened to shoot him and blind him, is to have his case heard in the Circuit Criminal Court. Eoin Hannon, of no fixed abode, appeared before a sitting of Ennis District Court this week, charged that he persistently used his phone to cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to another person, on dates between September 21 and September 26, 2012. Also, over the same time period, he is further charged with the harassment of Frankie Coote, County Clare’s dog warden. Hannon entered a plea of guilty to the charges and Inspector Tom Kennedy gave an outline of the evidence.
