All three men are products of Ennis RFC’s underage system with Butler and Coughlan coming off the bench in last Sunday’s thumping 59-5 win over Scotland. The former kicked three conversions while scrum half Coughlan’s pin point pass culminated in Josh Hanlon crossing the whitewash. THREE Clare players have made the Ireland squad for the upcoming 2022 U20 Six Nations Championship which begins next Friday. Tony Butler, Ethan Coughlan and Conor Moloney were included by head coach Richie Murphy in his 31-man squad, ahead of Ireland’s opening fixture against Wales at Musgrave Park on Friday, 4 February (Kick-off 8pm, live on RTÉ). The three playing for Garryowen, Shannon and Young Munster respectively all began their careers with Ennis RFC. Head coach Murphy, and his assistant coaches Jimmy Duffy, Willie Faloon and Mark Sexton, are excited about the dynamic of this year’s group having had to make a number of difficult selection decisions following a series of squad camps and Challenge Matches in recent weeks. Ireland kick off the Six Nations against Wales next Friday, before travelling to France in Round 2 on Friday, February 11. ENNIS rugby players Tony Butler and Conor Moloney have been named among the replacements for the Ireland U20s Match Day squad for Friday’s Challenge Match against Leinster Development at Energia Park. Head Coach Richie Murphy has selected an extended squad of 26 players for the clash against Simon Broughton’s side in Dublin, as preparations continue for the opening game of the U20 Six Nations against Wales at Musgrave Park on Friday, February 4. Coming off the back of Christmas hit-outs against Italy and Munster Development, Murphy will further expose his extended squad to valuable minutes, as he makes seven changes in personnel to his starting XV from last week’s win over Munster in Cork.
