THE Clare Champion featured prominently at the 36th annual Irish Print Awards event in Dublin at the weekend.
Celebrating excellence in the printing industry, the awards recognise the best of the country’s print sector and are regarded as the leading independent awards for the industry.
The regional newspaper category (sponsored by Agfa) was presented to Web Print, Cork for its work on The Clare Champion.
Commenting on the achievement, Clare Champion managing director, John Galvin said, “ I’m delighted with our win at the Irish Print Awards. This is the fourth time we have won this category, with three different printers, demonstrating our commitment to quality and our determination to produce the best newspaper we possibly can.
“I would like to thank our hard-working staff, who always have the design and layout of The Clare Champion foremost in their minds. I believe that this is the reason behind our ongoing success in the Irish Print Awards.”
Judged by a select team of industry experts, this year’s awards attracted the highest number of entries to date, with an additional six new categories added.
Event director Tracey Carney, said, “We had a fantastic evening, celebrating the success of Irish printing companies up and down the country and recognising their excellent quality offering. The awards are about recognising the Irish print industry and the great work they do. This year, we received more entries than ever before and the standard has exceeded all expectations.”
