Drugs worth over €200,000 seized at Shannon Airport

REVENUE officers have seized over 10.5kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of over €210,000 at Shannon Airport.

The illegal drugs were discovered concealed in a parcel that had arrived in an air cargo consignment from the United States and was destined for an address in Cork.

The seizure came about as a result of routine operations at the airport

The drugs seizure and another of illegal tobacco in Waterford worth €5,900, are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the shadow economy and smuggling.
