HAVING had a base in Ennis since 1974, Vitalograph is set to announce an expansion next week.
The expansion is actually being announced at a press conference in Limerick on Monday morning, and it seems likely that the announcement will largely focus on the creation of new jobs in Limerick, particularly as Mayor of Limerick Daniel Butler has been invited and his opposite number in Clare had not been this week.
However, a source close to the company said there will also be some good news for Ennis, although they wouldn’t be drawn on what that might consist of.
Vitalograph is a global provider of respiratory diagnostic products and clinical drug trial services. Its headquarters are in the UK, but it has had an R&D, engineering and manufacturing facility here for nearly 50 years.
Accounts produced for Vitalograph Ireland for 2020 stated, “The directors acknowledge the financial performance for the financial year and consider that the operating profit of €770,624 (2019: €793,718) to be in line with expectations.
“At the end of the year, the group has assets of €11,240,927 (2019: €9,399,130) and liabilities of €2,591,305 (2019: €1,912,076). The net assets of the group have increased by €1,162,568.
“The directors have reviewed operations for the forthcoming financial year and a satisfactory level of recurring performance is anticipated.”
On its website this week Vitalograph advertised numerous positions available in Ennis. These included roles in data analysis, marketing and IT.
On the site it also states that the company values “positive, hard-working people who enjoy a challenge and who want to work in an atmosphere of trust and respect in the workplace. Our respiratory diagnostic solutions improve patient’s lives and help those living with respiratory conditions.”
It also promised a competitive salary, private medical insurance and said funding support is available for further education.
