The works of 10 emerging artists from the Kinvara area will be on display as part of a new exhibition, which will be launched this August Bank Holiday weekend at Kinvara’s Market Square.
The exhibition, Emergence, features works by 10 local artists, all of whom are either recent graduates or current students of the BA in art and design part time degree at GMIT Galway. The showcase was the brainchild of Pam Fleming, who graduated from the course this year.
The ten artists taking part in the exhibition are Marian Coady (Kinvara), Mary Donoghue (Kilcolgan), Pam Fleming (Kinvara), Kerry Maclure (Kinvara), Julia O’Keefe (Kinvara), Mary Roberts (originally from Ballyvaughan but now living in Kilcolgan), Fiona Rooney (Ballindereen), Rosaleen Tanham (Kinvara), Patricia Timmons (Bray originally and now living in Kinvara) and Brian Twomey (Kinvara).
Emergence opens in The Pop Up Gallery, Kinvara Market Square (formerly DIY Pursuits) on Friday at 11am and will continue until Sunday, August 11. The exhibition is open daily from 11am to 7pm. A percentage from the funds raised through sales will be donated to the RNLI.
