A Polish tourist was killed in a car accident near the Cliffs of Moher two years ago after a driver was confused because his SatNav told him to go in the wrong direction. At Ennis Circuit Court, counsel for the State, Lorcan Connolly, said the State accepted that Grzegorz Barski’s SatNav telling him to go straight on instead of taking a right for the Cliffs of Moher at a junction was a contributory cause in the fatal accident on May 31, 2016. In the crash, the front-seat passenger in Mr Barski’s car, Grzegorz Frydrych died while a motorcyclist, Charles Killeen, who collided with the car, suffered head injuries, including a fractured skull and multiple broken facial bones and was hospitalised for one month. Gardaí in Ennis are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Woodstock, Shanaway Road, Ennis, in the early hours of this morning, Easter Sunday. At approximately 4.20am a male passenger (18 years) was fatally injured when the car he was in, hit a wall directly oppposite Woodstock Hotel. The other occupants, the driver and passenger (both young men, 19 and 21 years) were seriously injured and were removed to University Hospital Limerick. None of the three young men has been named. Gardaí investigating a fatal road traffic collision at Tubberyquinn in Ballyneety, Co. Limerick, shortly after midnight on Tuesday are appealing for witnesses. A 17 year-old male was fatally injured and three other males were injured ,one seriously, when the black Mazda 6, registered number 05 D 7435, they were traveling in, struck a ditch. All three are being treated at University Hospital Limerick. The car was seen in the Childer’s Road and Roxboro areas in the hour before the crash. It then drove on the motorway and took the Dooradoyle exit. A man in his 20’s has died and a woman is in a serious condition in hospital following a single vehicle crash in Meelick earlier today. The incident occurred at around 4am at Woodcock Hill. Gardaí at Ballinasloe are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Coolagh, near Loughrea, in the early hours of the morning. The collision occurred at approximately 2.45am on the Loughrea to Killimor Road, about three miles outside Killimor,when the car collided with a concrete barrier.The 26 year-old male driver was seriously injured and taken to University College Hospital Galway. Gardaí in Ennistymon are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred yesterday afternoon (Wednesday). The collision beetween a car and a motorcycle occurred at approximately 4.45pm at Doonagore, Doolin on the R47. The scene of the collision is 8km outside Doolin and the road is locally known as the Coast Road. The front seat passenger of the car, a 35-year-old man, was seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to the morgue in Limerick.
