Crusheen 8-16 Corofin 2-19 In a high scoring U-21B Championship tie at Clareabbey on Saturday evening, Crusheen overcame the challenge of Corofin to secure a quarter-final date against Tulla-Bodyke this week.One of the highlights of this tie was the contribution of 5-2 from Colin Vaughan, who scored a hat trick of goals in the opening half, at the end of which Crusheen were 4-10 to 2-13 ahead.Conor O’Donnell, Jamie Fitzgibbon and Ethan O’Donnell were the other goal scorers for the winners.Stephen Heagney was Corofin’s top scorer with 0-11 of his side’s final tally while Liam Corbett contributed both of their goals.Overall, however, Crusheen were more evenly balanced and they punished weaknesses in the Corofin defence as their final tally confirms.
