On the advice of Gardai a number of schools across Clare have not opened this morning, following a message that was sent out overnight.
A number of schools including ones in Ennis, Shannon, Sixmilebridge, Clarecastle and Crusheen are all closed today. In some cases parents were informed via internal communications networks while in other cases the closure only emerged after children arrived.
Gardai are currently investigating the message that was sent overnight.
