Runway run booked out

The success of the inaugural Bank of Ireland Runway Night Run last year has been reflected in this year’s event being fully booked within just 36 hours of being opened for registration.

A total of 1,700 places for the June 19 midnight event at Shannon Airport were up for grabs from Thursday last at midday but were entirely booked by late Friday night.

Shannon Airport has, as a result, closed off what is already an extensive waiting list for the event. It is now exploring further capacity options and will provide an update on Tuesday next, May 19 on the airport website www.shannonairport.ie and its Facebook account www.facebook.com/Shannon.Airport.Official.

All proceeds from the event are going to Shannon Group plc’s chosen charities for 2015 – TLC4CF (Tipperary Limerick Clare for Cystic Fibrosis) and Milford Care Centre, Limerick.

A native of Ennis, Colin McGann has been editor of The Clare Champion since August 2020. Former editor of The Clare People, he is a journalism and communications graduate of Dublin Institute of Technology.
