Housing crisis in Clare set to rumble on in 2025

CONSTRUCTION levels in Ennis are hardly reaching where they were a generation ago, and new figures that indicated a spike in building in Clare last year are misleading.

That was the message from local developer Larry Brennan this week, who said that builders face a range of challenges in delivering the level of homes that the market needs.

On January 17 the Department of Housing released a statement saying that there had been commencement notices for 829 homes in Clare during 2024, an increase of 47% on 2023, when the figure was 563.
