Gardai fear powerful car stolen in Clare for purposes of crime

GARDAI investigating the theft of a high-powered car stolen from a county Clare village are appealing for witnesses.
Last Thursday, June 3, at 04.30am a house in Clarecastle village was broken into by forcing access through a rear door – the keys to the owner’s car were taken and the car stolen.
The car is a black Audi S3 hatchback with a 3 litre engine. It has distinctive features including chrome surround on the window pillars, custom black wheels, and chrome wing mirrors. This is a very identifiable car.
As this is such a high powered vehicle, we believe it may have been targeted specifically and may be considered for use in the commission of crime.
The car was later spotted travelling south bound on the M20 in County Limerick.
If anyone saw anything suspicious or has dash cam footage they are asked to contact Ennis Garda Station on 065-6848100.
