Anon is Anall exhibition returns

AN oil painting from Carmel Doherty was the prize in a fundraiser for the Anon is Anall arts exhibition.
Its next staging will be in November, in conduction with the traditional music festival in Ennis. The exhibition examines Irish music in a visual art context, believing that the cultural identity of a people is reflected through their traditional music and the audio/visual exhibition was instigated in 2008 to test this theory.
The sources of inspiration are changed for both artists and musicians, meaning that new tunes and art works are created, while some very well known artists such as Mick O’Dea and Martin Hayes are becoming involved.
One of the main aims of the exhibition is to create a greater awareness of the creative diversity that Clare has to offer. This will be exhibited through visual contemporary art and audio. The audience will be able to listen to the new tunes through headphones, which will be connected to a flat screen TV showing a short documentary film. This short film will be displayed on a wall-mounted TV, with the new tunes acting as a backing track.
