Accident victim dies in hospital

A 25-year-old Kilmihil man died in Cork University Hospital on Thursday night, four days after being injured in a road traffic accident.

Colum Callinan was the sole occupant of the car in the single vehicle accident, which occurred on Sunday morning on the Kilmihil to Knockalough road. After being attended to at the scene by local emergency services, he was airlifted to hospital.

A popular young man, his death has caused sadness among the local community.
