Tulla Piping Festival

The Tulla Piping Festival weekend gets underway this Saturday and Sunday with participation from the Tulla Comhalthas CE branch, the O’Rourke School of Dancing and invited guests from other pipe bands.

Organised by The Tulla Pipe Band, the joy of playing music will be the theme of the weekend but there will be a strong emphasis on recruitment, with an open day at the band hall on Sunday.

The weekend will commence with The Tulla Pipe Band and guests will then perform at Tulla Courthouse on Saturday at 8.30pm. Part of the proceeds from this concert will be donated to the Clare 250 Cancer Centre through the Tulla Coffee Morning hosted by two local ladies, Kay and Lavender.

After the concert the band invite locals to join them as they retire to Minogue’s Pub for ceol and craic in the company of their invited guests and all are welcome to join in.
Following Sunday mass, The Tulla Pipe Band will then lead a parade through the village leaving from St Peter and Paul’s Church. All organisations and groups in the parish are invited to take part and thereafter the band will host an open day where everyone in the community and further afield are welcome to visit the band hall.

“This is a great opportunity for us to show everyone our newly decorated band hall, including photographs, restored instruments and uniforms of days gone by. It is at this point that we would be delighted to speak with anyone who might be interested in joining our organisation,” said band PRO Pam O’Reilly.
Tickets for the concert will be available on the door on Saturday night.
