FIFTY THREE-year-old Senan Danagher of Chapel Drive, Kilrush, died in a house fire in the town in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The deceased man lived alone in the bungalow and gardaí are not treating the fire as suspicious.

Two units of Kilrush fire service, Kilrush gardaí and the ambulance service attended the scene but were unable to revive Mr Danagher whose body was removed to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.
It is believed that the fire broke out in the bedroom area.
Kilrush gardaí were first on the scene and a spokesperson described the fire as an “intense blaze”. Kilrush Fire Service, who were contacted at 4.10am, arrived at 4.16am.
One of the fire fighting teams fought the blaze, while the second searched for Mr Danagher, who was found in the kitchen/living room.
Having been removed from the house, paramedics and ambulance personnel worked to revive Mr Danagher but his body was subsequently removed to hospital in Limerick.
The Kilrush man is the third Clare person to die in a house fire this year. In January, father and son, Mossy and James Quinn died in a house fire near Boston, Tubber.
