Crusheen GAA members and supporters are expected to turn out in huge numbers on Friday, January 14 for the club’s victory banquet at which the county senior hurling championship medals will be presented to the members of the panel, which won the title for the first time back in October.
The West County Hotel is the venue for what promises to be a gala occasion. In addition to the senior medal presentation, the junior hurlers, winners of the league and championship titles, will also be presented with their medals.
Tickets for the function are available from any of the club officers.
Meanwhile, Crusheen GAA minor club have come up with a novel fundraising idea. Underage club activist Bryan Slevin explained that after the county final it struck him that “thousands of great photos were being taken by friends and family of the winning team and that none of these would be seen by anyone else”.
Bryan put out a flyer to try to collect the photos to produce a photographic record of the win and the few days in and around the success.
The book is available at outlets in Crusheen village, at Tommy O’Donnell’s sports shop in Abbey Street in Ennis or directly from Bryan Slevin at bryanslevin@gmail.com; 087 1210733.
