Clare FM presenters showcase their music at Ennis Trad Festival

THE Clare FM traditional music presenters of The West Wind will join each other on stage, with a number of their musical friends, for a one-off concert, as part of the Ennis Trad Festival, in Glór on Friday, November 12.

Down through the years, Clare FM has had traditional Irish music presenters who have themselves been musicians, performers, collectors, researchers, academics, poets and teachers – and who have also been actively involved in the traditional music making in County Clare and further afield.
This has ensured that the music reaching the listeners ears is representative of the cultural diversity which exists within the traditional music community.
The Ennis Trad Festival concert gives the presenters an opportunity to showcase their individual tastes and talents. They hope in turn that their loyal listeners will join them in Glór for a great evening’s entertainment. Each of the presenters will bring five other musicians to play with them, meaning that in all, 30 musicians will participate in the concert.
Taking to the stage in Glór on the night will be: Joan Hanrahan (fiddle), Claire Keville (concertina), Paula Carroll (vocals), Ronan Burke (banjo), Pat Costello (strings and things), Eoin O’Neill (bouzouki), plus a host of friends, family and special guests,
