THE Cliffs of Moher Experience teamed up with two schools in recent days to bring some Christmas cheer to residents of local nursing homes. Pupils from Mol An Oige primary school in Ennistymon and Liscannor National School sang Christmas carols for residents of Ennistymon Community Hospital and Dominic Savio nursing home respectively. The children and their teachers sang the Christmas tunes outside the windows of the facilities to the delight of residents. They also helped deliver gifts and treats from the Cliffs of Moher Experience to the hard-working staff in both homes. Melanie Lennon, sales and marketing manager of the Cliffs of Moher Experience said the they were “delighted to organise the event”. THE St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games County 50th Athletic Finals were staged on Sunday, August 15, in John O’Sullivan Park, Lees Road, Ennis, in ideal weather conditions. It was a much scaled down version of what used to be the showcase event of the year for Community Games. The standard was very high with some very close finishes. The first and second in each track event now go forward to represent Clare in the Munster Regional Finals in Cork while the first in the field events go to National Finals.

Ghostly goings on as Ennis National School children visit Clare Champion
THE Clare Champion was a very scary place on Thursday morning when dozens of children from Ennis National School visited to mark Halloween. The pupils were themselves dressed very scarily for the occasion, while Clare Champion staff were transformed into witches, ghosts and skeletons. While it was an exceptionally scary scene, the children were delighted when they heard that there was plenty of chocolate, sweets and taytos to help them come to terms with their ghostly surroundings.
