THE Munster Nipper Surf Lifesaving Championships were held in Tramore last week, where a 75-strong Clare team of nippers aged eight to 14 competed in a range of sea and beach events.
Competitors raced in a 200m openwater swim, a 200m rescue board race, 50m beach sprint and flags event with points are awarded for each. Clare retained the overall trophy for the fourth consecutive year.
The top five in age groups qualified for the nationals in Brittas Bay at the end of the month.
