Writers’ bursary up for grabs at the Arts Office

THE Arts Office of Clare County Council has announced a bursary for Clare writers to attend a course at the renowned Dingle Writing Courses this autumn.
The aim of the bursary is to promote and foster creative writing in Clare, for both established and emerging writers, by giving them an opportunity to work intensively on a writing course with some of the top Irish and international writers.
The bursary covers accommodation, meals and tuition but does not cover travel costs.
To be eligible for a bursary, you must be currently living and writing in County Clare.
To apply for a bursary, writers must clearly demonstrate their financial need and explain the benefits they hope to get from the course. Would-be applicants need only apply if they would be unable to attend without a bursary.
Applicants may be shortlisted or required to attend for an interview, at the discretion of the arts officer.
Successful applicants will be required to acknowledge the assistance of Clare County Council in any promotional material relating to any work which may be attributed to time spent on the course.  A copy of the logo is available on request.
The closing date for receipt of applications is July 16, 2010.
Full details of the courses available can be found on www.info@dinglewritingcourses.ie.
For further information contact Clare Arts Office, County Library, Mill Road, Ennis, telephone 065 6899091 or email arts@clarelibrary.ie www.clarelibrary.ie/arts.htm.
