Up-and- coming bands at Doolin café

TWO promising bands will be playing in the Magnetic Music Café in Doolin in the coming weeks.
The first is Full Set this Saturday. Full Set’s sound is full of energy, while they remain true to their traditional roots. Following their debut release they were compared to the likes of Danú and Altan.
They have performed at various festivals and venues around Europe, such as Kann al Loar in Brittany and the Festival Interceltique de Lorient. They have shared stages with names like Moya Brennan, Fred Morrison, Lúnasa and Carolos Nunez.
On August 13, Ciorras will perform. They formed last year when the members were among a large number of musicians who featured in the TG4 series, Lorg Lunny. As part of his journey around the country looking for young musical talent, these eight young musicians were invited by maestro Donal Lunny to create a new band with a fresh, new sound in traditional music.
The band have a diverse repertoire of newly composed tunes sitting with a more traditional repertoire and some lesser known songs. They have an impressive assortment of instruments including fiddle, concertina, pipes, piano, accordion, keyboards, percussion, low whistles and four exceptional flute players.
Young musicians Tara Breen and Dermot Sheedy are among the members who will be familiar to Clare audiences.
