Two Clare houses burgled after front doors left unlocked


GARDAI have appealed to householders in Clare to take extra care over security after two houses whose front doors were not locked at night were burgled.

Clare crime prevention officer Sergeant Triona Brooks said gardaí at Killaloe Garda station are investigating two burglaries which occurred during the early hours of Sunday morning, December 11 between 2am and 6am. Neither front door in these houses was locked.

“We want to advise homeowners to please ensure that all your doors and windows are secure before you retire at night,” said Sergeant Brooks.

A house in Millstream was entered and a Ventura Laptop and a black Alcatel mobile phone were stolen while another house in Cnoc Cluain was entered and two wallets were stolen containing cash and bank cards.

Meanwhile, on Saturday afternoon, December 10, between 2.30pm and 7pm, entry was gained to a house in the Gort Leamhan estate on the Tulla Road Ennis by breaking the glass in a window at the side of the house. A sum of cash was stolen during the course of this burglary.
