St Joseph’s win decisively against Corofin

On a sunny evening in Gurteen on Wednesday last, St Joseph’s emerged winners in this U-16A tie having led by 2-2 to 0-2 at half-time. Ciara Whelan, St Joseph’s, scored a point from a free, followed by two points from Corofin’s Siobhan Lane. St Joseph’s replied with a point from a free from Vanessa Meaney and goals from Orla Mulchrone and Niamh O’Brien.

A strong second-half performance followed from St Joseph’s with a second goal from Orla Mulchrone, followed by a point from a free from Ciara Whelan. Lizzy Roche found the net for the visitors 10 minutes into the half. Vanessa Meaney replied with a goal and with another point from a free from Ciara Whelan, sealed a victory for St Joseph’s over a Corofin side that recorded an 8-8 to 5-5 win over Éire Óg.

A very strong Inagh Kilnamona team had a big win over Éire Óg on Wednesday evening

Truagh 8-6 
Kilmaley 2-1

Truagh lead throughout in this U-16B tie in Clonlara.
Kilmaley came into the game more in the second half aided by a slight breeze. Truagh had the points well secured mid-way through the second half when Laura Foley converted two 45’ metre frees.

Scariff-Ogonnelloe  2-7
Clooney-Quin  1-0

A stronger Scariff-Ogonnelloe side were made to work hard for their place in the U-16B league final. They were ahead 1-3 to 0-0 at the break but the Clooney defence had worked extremely hard. Clooney battled back after the break and when Áine Nash goaled, there was little between the sides.
Scariff-Ogonnelloe tagged on the insurance points with the second goal only coming in the final minute of the game.
