Scariff 46   Kilrush 12
Leaders Scariff maintained their unbeaten run in the Division 3 rugby league with this emphatic victory over Kilrush at Scariff on Sunday.

From the start, Scariff piled on the pressure and tries from Robbie Madden, James Kelly (2), Eoghan Collins, Tom Cronin and Barry Gibbons (2) sealed a great victory over their Clare rivals. Scariff led 27-0 at the break.
Midway through the second half, Scariff made a raft of changes. At this stage Kilrush were enjoying a period of dominance where they scored two tries through Calum Bond and Ray Conway, one of which was converted by Paul Conway.
This win keeps Scariff at the top of the league table, a point ahead of Presentation. The East Clare side will have a break from league action until the new year. Attention will switch to the Junior Cup on December 5 when they will be at home to Coirce Duibhne.

St Senan’s crushed by Skibbereen
Skibbereen 43   St Senan’s 0
In the early exchanges both Senan’s and Skibbereen missed penalty opportunities due to the ball drifting wide because of a very strong cross wind.
Skibbereen took the lead after just eight minutes when, due to some indiscipline by Senan’s in the ruck, they managed to break through to register their first try and gain a 7-0 lead. This was followed shortly after by a second try that allowed the home side extend their lead to 12-0.
That score appeared to act as a wake up call for Senan’s who had the lions share of possession and territorial advantage for the remainder of the half but they found the Skibbereen defence too strong to break through.
The second half was one-way traffic for the home side as they added a further five tries, converting three of these to give them a final points tally of 43.
Senan’s only managed to breach the Skibbereen defence once in the second half but could not ground the ball to record a score.
This was a disappointing performance by St Senan’s who can point to the fact that they were missing some regular first team players but nothing can deflect from the strength and skill of a very good Skibbereen side who ran out deserving winners.
Next week, Senan’s travel to Clanwilliam Park to face an in form Clanwilliam, hoping to put this disappointing performance behind them.
St Senan’s: David Dunne, Barry Murphy, Chris Sloan, Ronan O’Callaghan, Brian Collins, Declan Collins, Darragh McCoy, Dwane Horkin, Ed Slattery, Paul O’Halloran, Trevor Skerritt, Aaron Skerritt, Robert Hegarty, Fergal Lawlor, Timmy Larkin.
Replacements: Gerard McNamara, Jake Egan, Mark Butler, Eamon Martin, Mike Lyons.
