A GOAL from Eoin Troy in the first half gave O’Curry’s the advantage in their Garry Cup tie played at Kildysart last Friday evening.

The winners led by that goal at half-time when the score was 1-5 to 0-5 and while Kildysart had a goal from Neil O’Connor in the second period, they never managed to get back on terms and the visitors held on for a merited victory.
Kildysart should have had a second goal but John Clancy saw his penalty effort comfortably saved by Ronan Clohessy.

Éire Óg  1-14   Ennistymon  1-13

IN a high-scoring tie, Éire Óg managed to hold on for a one-point win over Ennistymon and preserve their unbeaten run in this year’s competition.
The North Clare side had the better of the early exchanges and helped by a fortunate goal, following a defensive blunder by Éire Óg, they opened a good lead but the town side fought back strongly and were only a point adrift when the half-time whistle sounded.
The Ennis side dominated the third quarter and they opened a good lead but Ennistymon put in a storming last quarter, during which they scored half a dozen points without reply. However, time wasn’t on their side and the Townies held on for victory.

Cooraclare  0-10   Lissycasey  1-2

THIS was the proverbial game of two halves. Lissycasey played some good football in the opening half and led by a point at half-time, with the only goal coming from Dermot Nagle.
They had missed some good chances in the first half and were again guilty of misses at the start of the second period before Cooraclare took command and dominated the final quarter to run out worthy winners in the tie, which carried both Garry and O’Gorman Cup points.

St Senan’s  1-14  Wolfe Tones  0-12

ST Senan’s, Kilkee maintained their winning run in the Garry Cup when they travelled to Shannon last Thursday and defeated the home side.
Barry Harte scored the all-important goal in the second half and this proved to be the decisive score for the Seasiders, who trailed by two points at half-time. They were four points behind early in the second half when they struck for the goal.
