More success for Hayley

O’Briensbridge native Róisín Hayley has competed in two major athletic competitions in the past month, the Tailteann (inter-provincial) Games in Santry on June 23, where she represented Munster and the Munster Juvenile Championships in Cork last week.
As a result of her success at the Tailteann Games – she won the 200m – she has been selected to represent the Irish Schools at the Schools International in Ashford, Kent, on July 21. Roseanna McGuckian (Ulster) was second and Laura-Ann Costello (Connacht) was third in the 200m.
In Munster Juvenile Championships she retained both her 100m and 200m titles in the U-17 age group. In both events, Emma O’Brien of Leevale was second and Niamh Giles-Doran of Ferrybank was third.
Róisín’s next competition will be the National Juvenile Championships, which are being held in Tullamore on July 14 and 15.
She will compete in the 100m on the first weekend. The Schools International is the weekend after and the second weekend of the National Juvenile Championships is the weekend after that, also in Tullamore, where she will compete in the 200m.
