Moyasta launch for James’ Scream Orange Sky

Car Tourismo Banner

MOYASTA man Mark James will launch his debut EP Scream Orange Sky at Garrihy’s Bar in Moyasta on Saturday night from 8pm. The four-track EP showcases Mark’s diverse influences and his acute aptitude for crafty lyricism.
For many of Mark’s fans, this release is long overdue. Also known for his performance poetry Mark, 25, was one of the winners of the recent Galway Grand Slam and his poems have been published by Doire Press  in a collection titled North Beach Nights. In addition, he is currently studying Arts in NUIG and is the man behind The Wolf on Galway’s FlirtFM.
The songs featuring on the current release are not easily defined. The opener Something is Gonna Come of it is an upbeat jingly affair with a country Motown swing reminiscent of The Bands – The Weight or Ronnie Lane’s – Ooh La La, The second track Unmistakable is a more down tempo acoustic offering with an interesting RnB twist. The third track Shadowboxer is a more aggressive hip-hop fused rock number and the fourth track Music To Murder By is an atmospheric contribution.
Although the four tracks are notably varying and eclectic in their influences, they do harbour an unmistakeable coherence that ties the EP together and marks it as a complete work.
To launch the EP, Mark will be playing a number of gigs throughout the country, dates of which will be posted on his BreakingTunes page, where the tracks are also available for streaming
