Manus win against eight-man Cooraclare

MANUS Celtic B kept up their strong challenge for the third-division title with this win over Cooraclare Celtic but they had to battle to the end for victory against a West Clare side that could only field eight players.

A major shock looked to be on the cards when the visitors raced into a 3-1 lead with goals from Joe Kelly and Barry Lynch (2).
Despite being three players short, they caused all sorts of problems for the Clarecastle-based Manus outfit.
The winners had the margin down to one by half-time and with the advantage of three extra players, they got the upperhand in the second half. Goalscorers for the winners were Aaron Considine (2), Shane Considine, Barry Malone and Bernard Scanlan.

IN beautiful weather conditions in Shannon on Sunday morning, West Clare United kept up their push for promotion with this victory over Shannon Olympic B. Both teams played out an excellent game with some great football from start to finish. Olympic started the better and were on top in the opening stages putting West Clare under a lot of pressure and forcing a number of corners.
Olympic took a deserved lead when Vlado Pahuli drilled an unstoppable shot from well outside the area that gave the keeper no chance. West Clare came more into the game and scored an equaliser before the break through Jamie Russell. Both teams had chances in the second half but it was West Clare that got the all important winner through Gearóid Russell. The win keeps the West Clare side in the hunt for the title.
Best For Olympic on the day were Felipe Reyes, Vlado Pahuli and Joe Brennan.

HERMITAGE C took the lead in this tie when Michael Thousiffer was on target and they held this advantage until late in the second half when Wesley Fleming equalised from Bridge Celtic B.
This result marked the Ennis side’s fifth unbeaten game on the trot.
