Girls and boys’ teams do Clonlara proud

SUNSHINE was the order of the day as the finals of The Clare Champion-sponsored Cumann na mBunscoil hurling, camogie and girls’ football championships were staged at Cusack Park this week.

It was a particularly joyful day for St Senan’s, Clonlara, who were crowned Division 1 camogie and hurling champions.

The girls’ football finals got the programme underway on Monday. However, the Division 1 final was played earlier in the month between Gaelscoil Mhíchíl Cíosóg and Knockanean National School, with Gaelscoil winning the title.

The hurling and camogie finals were held on Tuesday and Wednesday. Clare inter-county hurler John Conlon, who recently graduated from Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, made the presentations.
