Ennis to host All-Ireland Music Competition


THE West County Hotel is set to host the finals of a major national music competition featuring some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry as judges.
The All-Ireland Music Competition was recently launched at a star-studded event in Dublin. In a major coup for the Ennis hotel, it has been confirmed that the West County will be the scene for the finals in September.
It has been announced that Mercury Music Winner and Hot Press Best Female Artist Gemma Hayes will be taking time out of her hectic international touring schedule to judge the competition along with Eurovision winner, Paul Harrington.
This is the first year of the All-Ireland Music Competition, sponsored by Shannon Development with Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau.
The nationwide competition has prizes of a recording contract and TMI representation with a single release for Christmas.
Teresa Brady, sales manager at  The West County Hotel said, “Having worked with Anthony Whelan from Shadow Hawk Music Production over the past few years, we are honoured that they decided on Ennis as their location. We look forward to welcoming the best of t alent to the Banner County in September.”
Vincent Cunnane chief executive of Shannon Development added, “Shannon Development and Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau are delighted to be supporting The All-Ireland Music Competition coming to The West County Hotel in Ennis. Events of this profile really strengthen our already existing wealth of music and cultural events which number over 165 annually and attract over 300,000 visitors to our region. We look forward to working with all the partners on this exciting event to ensure it is a resounding success.”
Bands, vocalists and acts can now register on www.aimc.ie and the final will take place at The West County Hotel, from September 27 to 30.
