€500,000 worth of drugs seized in South East Clare

Gardaí have seized almost half a million euro worth of drugs following two searches carried out in Meelick and O’Briensbridge on Tuesday night.

The controlled substance has yet to be analysed but is believed to be heroin.

The seizure was made by garda in Limerick and Clare arising from an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of controlled substances in the Limerick Division and in neighbouring counties.

One man has been arrested and is currently being detained at Roxboro Road Garda Station in Limerick under drug trafficking legislation. He can be held for questioning without charge for up to a week.
