Crowe says FF will need to rebuild


 

Meelick’s Fianna Fáil county councillor Cathal Crowe said it’s a difficult day for the party. “I’ve been following closely developments all day and it has been disappointing. At the outset I was only expecting one seat, with maybe a sniff of a second, but that’s highly unlikely at this stage. It’ll be a long evening and this is where transfers kick in, it’s that kind of election. We won’t be transfer friendly this time. I saw that in the local elections, my personal vote increased but I had a long wait, because I had to get transfers.”

He says that he  “I’m looking forward to the rebuilding of the party. A number of things have to be looked at, including bringing young people into it. The key to it is on the ground work, you can have fantastic policies but constituency work shines through and we need to be an active organisation on the ground. I look forward, as the county’s youngest elected member to being part of the rebuilding.”
