FIVE adults and a 12-year-old child were treated for minor injuries in hospital last Sunday afternoon following a two-car collision on a section of the Ennis Bypass in the vicinity of Kilbricken.
The two-vehicle collision occurred on the M18 under the flyover serving Kilbricken, Doora and Clarecastle at approximately 1pm.
Gardaí in Ennis are appealing to anyone travelling along the stretch of motorway at the time of the collision to contact the garda station.
A large number of emergency vehicles and crew attended the scene and a traffic management plan was also put into operation and fire crew worked on cutting one of the cars to allow the safe removal of passengers.
The passengers of both vehicles were removed to hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and all have now been discharged.
Gardaí are also investigating a separate crash at Caherea, Lissycasey incolving a four-car collision on Monday evening at approximately 6pm.
One person was taken to hospital but did not sustain any serious injuries. The road was closed for up to an hour to facilitate the removal of the damaged cars and to transport the injured person to hospital. That person has now been discharged.
