Coolmeen  4-10
Shannon Gaels  2-1

Local rivals Coolmeen and Shannon Gaels met in Kilmihil recently in the U-14 Division 4 final. They had met previous to this in the first round, Coolmeen getting the better of their opponents on that occasion.
Coolmeen’s Sean Wallace set his stall out early, winning a kick-out and converting for the first point of the game. Ben Cleary, Cian Murphy and Wallace again increased Coolmeen’s tally to seven points with some well-taken scores before Wallace rattled the Gaels’ net.
Shannon Gaels’ Darragh Bohannon, after nearly 20 minutes of play, registered his team’s first point. The Gaels found it difficult to create opportunities as Coolmeen defended well, with Mark Meaney and Alan Normoyle to the fore. They did have one goal chance in this half but Adam Carrigg stood solid on his goal line to deny them. Ben Cleary sent the Coolmeen troops into the half-time break with their confidence high by converting another 1-1 before the whistle. At half-time the winners led on a scoreline of 2-8 to 0-1.
Coolmeen restarted well and after two minutes Cian Murphy fisted a cross from Sean Wallace for a goal. Alan Normoyle blocked an attack on his 21-yard line and delivered the ball directly to Wallace who, unselfishly, placed it into the path of Ben Cleary, who slid the ball into the net for their third goal.
Chris O’Connor hit a Coolmeen goal with nine minutes remaining but soon after Shannon Gaels’ Aaron Malone-Smyth had a goal. It wasn’t to be the Gaels’ day though as Sean Wallace kicked Coolmeen’s 10th and final point.
Cian Murphy accepted the shield on behalf of his team mates. Coolmeen had impressive performances from Cian Murphy, Sean Wallace, Alan Normoyle and Mark Meaney. Ben Cleary was the stand-out player, with a personal tally of 2-6.
