Clare receive nine All Star nominations

Nine Clare hurlers have been nominated for the PwC GAA/GPA All-Stars.
Only Limerick have received more nominations than the Banner with 14 Treaty men up for the prestigious individual award.
Clare goalkeeper Eibhear Quilligan, along with defenders John Conlon, Adam Hogan, Diarmuid Ryan and David McInerney have all received nominations.
McInerney previously claimed an All Star award in 2013 when Clare lifted the Liam McCarthy. Meanwhile, Conlon scooped up an All Star award in 2018 in the forward division as the Clonlara man’s seamless transition to the centre back role has helped Clare reach successive All Ireland semi finals.
Hogan, Quilligan and Ryan go in search of their inaugural All Star awards.
Midfielder David Fitzgerald, as well as forwards Tony Kelly, Shane O’Donnell and Mark Rodgers have also received nominations. Kelly, O’Donnell and Fitzgerald all secured All Star awards in 2022.
Ballyea’s Kelly could receive his fifth All Star, which would place him top of the Banner leaderboard, just ahead of his manager Brian Lohan and Jamesie O’Connor.
Meanwhile, both Adam Hogan and Mark Rodgers have been nominated for the Young Player of the Year award alongside Cork’s Ciaran Joyce.
The Hurler of the Year award will be claimed by a Limerick man with Kyle Hayes, Aaron Gillane and Diarmaid Byrnes the three shortlisted after helping to deliver a fourth Liam MacCarthy triumph on the spin.
Beaten All-Ireland finalists, Kilkenny have received eight nominations. Meanwhile, six Galway players have been nominated for a PwC GAA/GPA All-Star award.
Despite being eliminated from the Munster Championship, Cork have received one more nomination than All Ireland quarter finalists Tipperary. Four Rebel players are up for an award with three Tipperary players shortlisted.
Dublin possess one representative of their own as Dónal Burke, who was forced to limp out of his side’s All Ireland quarter final defeat to Clare, is also shortlisted after a fine year in front of the posts.
