THREE Clare pupils have been named as finalists in the Doodle 4 Google art competition and are now among the 60 Irish pupils in with a chance of winning the national title.
Everyone in Clare is now being urged to visit www.google.ie/doodle4google and vote for Csilla Torok, Amy Wall and Gearóid Howley to bring the title to Clare.
Csilla Torok is a second-class pupil from Gaelscoil Uí Choimin and her Doodle title is Stories. Amy Wall of senior infants at Kilmaley National School based her doodle on At the End of the Rainbow, while Gearóid, of second class in St Fachtnan’s and St Attracta National School, titled his drawing Aliens in Space.
All reached the top 60 with their creation of a doodle around the Google logo, based on the theme of “To me, happiness is…”
The public vote opened on Monday and will close on January 31. The top four doodles from the public vote, one from each age category, will then be presented to the official Google doodle team, who will choose the overall winner.
The winning doodle will feature on the Google Ireland homepage in March, to be seen by millions of internet users and the winner’s school will receive a €10,000 technology grant.
