Amalgamation motion rescinded

At the annual convention of Bord na nÓg hurling in December there was no opposition to a proposal from Cratloe, which asked that clubs wishing to amalgamate “maintain the same amalgamation for all age groups and should not be allowed to pick and choose clubs depending on the strength of the age group in question”.

At this week’s February meeting of the board, letters from O’Callaghan’s Mills, Bodyke and Tulla were read, which asked to have the motion rescinded. On a count of 24 votes to two, their requests were successful.

No change to U-15 dates
A proposal from the top table that clubs agree to run the U-15 championship in the early part of the season was defeated on a 12-9 vote. The competition will take place in August-September, as was the case last year.
