A Shakespearean Christmas in school

Christmas was even more colourful than usual at Ennis National School last week, with traditional Yuletide costumes being complemented by Scottish tartans.

The lead role of Macbeth was admirably carried off by Alexander Carr from Market Street, Ennis, while Shannon Purtill was Lady Macbeth. Deon Costin stole the show as Macduff with Evan Whelan as Banquo. The roles of Malcolm and Donalbain were performed by Cian Drost and Ronan Hayes, with Ross McInerney as an assassin.
Needless to say, the presence of young men in kilts around the school caused quite a stir.
