As many as 20,000 people are expected to savour the magical atmosphere of Christmas at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park.
The annual Santa Claus Experience has been complemented with the introduction of Christmas at the Castle Evenings, which commence this Friday night at 8pm and run on selected dates until December 23.
Guests will enjoy an evening in the company of the famous Castle Entertainers performing all the great Christmas classics, with a mulled claret reception on arrival, followed by a three-course dinner with wine.
For the Santa Claus Experience, which runs daily from this Friday until December 23, the Folk Park village street has been decked with holly and festooned with fairy lights and the village Christmas tree adorned for the occasion.
The young and not so young will be treated to a puppet show and can join in the fun by chatting to the surprise Christmas characters, including a troupe of Santa’s elves, who wander the village street in search of mischief. Christmas themed shops selling Christmas fare will ensure visitors can get in a bit of last-minute shopping.
Speaking about Christmas at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, John Ruddle, chief executive, Shannon Heritage, said, “We are delighted to offer people a range of pre-Christmas entertainment and fun for all the family. In addition to Christmas evenings at the Castle and the Santa Claus experience, people can also book to come and visit our Christmas Village. Visitors can call in to see Mrs Claus in her kitchen as she prepares for Santa’s trip – making sure his clothes are ironed and he has plenty of food for his journey, or avail of a wonderful opportunity to listen to the Folk Park storyteller as he recalls colourful tales of Christmas long ago.”
Pre-booking is necessary for the special pre-Christmas events. To book, visit www.shannonheritage.com or call Shannon Heritage Reservations at 061 360788.
