Winning start for Doonbeg

Doonbeg 1-10   Liscannor 0-3

DOONBEG got their Cusack Cup campaign off to a winning start on Saturday night in Quilty when they proved too strong for Liscannor.
After an evenly fought first half, at the end of which the Magpies led 0-4 to 0-3, the Kieran O’Neill-managed side took control.

Substitute Jim Bob Griffin scored the only goal at the start of the final quarter, shortly after his introduction, and this score killed off any hopes Liscannor followers held of getting something from the game.

Brian Dillon was the winners’ top scorer, kicking five points from frees.
