Lissycasey 1-6 St Senan’s 0-9

A contribution of 1-3 from veteran Martin Daly helped Lissycasey to a share of the spoils with St Senan’s Kilkee in this relegation play off at Labasheeda on Saturday.
The Seasiders dominated the first half and were full value for their 0-6 to 0-1 half time lead. Indeed they could well have had a greater lead at this stage as they had missed a couple of gilt-edged chances in the early stages of the game.
Scores from David Russell, Barry Harte and Gearoid Lynch had the West Clare side three ahead after ten minutes. They dominated the early exchanges around midfield and the Lissycasey defence was under a lot of pressure from a Kilkee side that fielded its strongest side.
Colin Lynch opened Lissycasey’s account with the team’s only score of the half but Kilkee continued to dictate matters and further points from Chris Williamson and Kevin Larkin (2) left them 0-6 to 0-1 in front at the break
There was a bit more urgency in Lissycasey’s play after the break and they had early points from Danny Lynch and Daly (free) before Michael O‘Shea converted a free for his side.
As the third quarter drew to a close Colin Lynch landed a Lissycasey point and five minutes later they sides were on level terms after Lynch put Daly through and the former county star made no mistake when shooting low to the new to tie up the teams.
Conor King and Daly (free) exchanged points before King struck again to give his side a one point lead with time ticking away. Lissycasey, however, had the final say and it was fitting that Daly struck the equaliser that was, arguably, the best score of the game.
The Lissycasey defence did well throughout with the Kelly brothers and Sean Hill to the fore. Elsewhere Anthony Kelly, Colin Lynch and Daly made valuable contributions.
Thomas Galvin, David Russell, Dara Kelly, Kevin Larkin and Conor King did well for Kilkee.
