Inagh-Kilnamona 1-6 Sixmilebridge 0-4
Inagh-Kilnamona became The Clare Champion U-16A champions on Sunday evening last with a five-point victory over Sixmilebridge.
Sixmilebridge opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a well-taken point from centre-forward Karen Gallagher. Inagh-Kilnamona responded minutes later with a converted free from Laura Rynne but it wasn’t until the 26th minute that the next score came from a placed ball by Sixmilebridge’s Fiona Murphy. Laura Rynne responded again from a placed ball, followed by another converted free from Sixmilebridge’s Keelin Lyons, leaving just the minimum between the sides.
In the 29th minute, Inagh/Kilnamona got the all-important score when a Sinéad Quinn free was doubled on to the Sixmilebridge net to give the Inagh girls’ a two-point lead going in at half-time.
It was Inagh/Kilnamona who opened the scoring in the second half with a converted free by Sinéad Quinn. Sixmilebridge’s Fiona Murphy replied with a point from a free.
Inagh/Kilnamona’s Amy Keating found the target while captain Laura Rynne sealed the deal for the Inagh/Kilnamona girls, with two points. Sixmilebridge had solid displays from Emma Kennedy, Keelin Lyons, Slaine Carey, Fiona Murphy and Karen Gallagher while best for Inagh/Kilnamona were Aoife Keane, Sinead Quinn, Laura Rynne, Amy Keating and Andrea O’Keefe.

Corofin 1-4 Kilmaley 0-3
Corofin were crowned U-16B champions when they proved too strong for Kilmaley at the weekend. Corofin were first to register a score when Aoibheann Malone pointed from play but Kilmaley replied in quick succession.
Corofin’s Louise Browne grabbed the only goal of the game in the 17th minute and followed up with a point in the 26th. Exceptional defending by both sets of backs made it difficult for the forwards as Corofin went on to lead 1-2 to 0-2 at the break. Kilmaley never gave up and battled right to the end but Corofin were able to take their scores easier and this proved to be the difference.

Ballyea 5-16 Wolfe Tones 0-0
Ballyea were runaway winners in the inaugural U-16B shield final. Emma O’Connell opened the scoring for Ballyea in the first minute with a goal followed by a pointed free a minute later.
This set the scene for the rest of the first half, as Ballyea added a further 2-10. The Wolfe Tones girls battled tirelessly but were unable to convert to scores when they had possession.
A superb display in goals by Wolf Tones’ Susan Williams and strong defence from Kayleigh Shanagher, Jade O’Rourke and Edel Reidy ensured the margin wasn’t greater but the firing power of Emma O’Connell, Carol Browne, Ria Flanagan and Chloe Devitt resulted in good scores for the winners.
Wolfe Tones increased the pressure in the second half with strong performances from sHayley Nolan and Zoe McInerney and held Ballyea scoreless in the third quarter, apart from a pointed free by captain Áine O’Shea but Ballyea dug in and rounded off the half with a further 2-4 in the final period.

Truagh-Clonlara3-6 Killanena 1-8
Truagh-Clonlara had a hard-fought victory over Killanena in the U-16C cup final on Saturday.
Truagh opened the scoring in the second minute with a point from a free by Michelle Powell. Róisín Begley added three further points from play before Róisín McNamara registered Killanena’s first score with a point from a free. Both sets of defenders were under pressure and Truagh’s Áine O’Loughlin scored their first goal.
Killanena were awarded a penalty in the 15th minute and Róisín McNamara added another point for Killanena. It looked like Killanena were under serious pressure when Truagh got another goal in the 17th minute but this was cancelled out by a goal from Amy McArthur before half-time, leaving Truagh up by six points at the break.
For the first 15 minutes of the second half, Killanena produced a great team performance and scored four points without reply, two each from Amy McArthur and Róisín McNamara.
With the margin reduced to two points, Killanena were trying hard for a goal but great defensive displays from Eimear Kelly and Molly Power denied them any chances. Within the last 15 minutes Truagh outscored Killanena 1-1 to 0-1.
After a wonderful display by both teams Joe Robbins, vice-chairperson of the camogie board, presented the cup to Truagh captain, Siobhain Fahy.

Tulla-Bodyke 2-2 Scariff-Ogonnelloe 1-1
Scariff-Ogonnelloe failed to get going in the first half of this U-16C shield and it was Tulla-Bodyke who dominated throughout.
Both sides were unlucky in front of goals and it was Tulla-Bodyke who led 1-2 to no score at the break. Scariff-Ogonnelloe had a better second half and after getting their first score, they came more into the game but some again costly wides in second half left them behind at the final whistle.
